For business-management reasons in the open-cast mining more and more existing devices are mechanically and electronically overhauled.
Part of this also is the modernisation of the cable reel with new frequency converter-drive, new spooling device, slipring assemblies and the corresponding commissioning.
Console-cable reel for the application on excavators in open-cast mining
Especially for this cable reel a frequency converter-control was developed and commissioned in May 2006. The cable reel is reeling a 30 kV-cable with a length of 2100 m and a diameter of 70 mm. The reel has an inner diameter of 3 m and a length of 8.5 m.
